Born in Shanghai, China, Gayook and her parents escaped Communism at age 3 ½. She offers a unique approach in teaching qigong, an ancient Chinese healing art, integrating both eastern and western cultures into her life and work. Descended from a paternal lineage of qigong healers, she has practiced qigong to heal from 2 bouts of cancer, physical and sexual abuse, as well as with clients to end post-traumatic stress disorder (ptsd).

Her western training and experience include 32 years of clinical psychotherapy with trauma survivors, specifically with survivors of child sexual and physical abuse, rape, and domestic violence. She was an external consultant with  AT&T and Lucent Technology, dealing with issues of racism, sexism and homophobia.  Gayook taught qigong in the Wellness Center at Castle Medical Center in Oahu, Hawaii.  Moving to e to Los Angeles, she was social work supervisor at adult health care centers, successfully facilitating qigong meditations to heal senior war veterans,  prisoners of war, and political prisoners suffering from ptsd.  She also held private consults with individuals and taught classes.

Again, cancer free, she is ready to resume her life’s work.

She and her adult children, Jennifer and Matthew, are co-authors along with Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer in Amazon’s Top Ten List, Wake Up and Live the Life You Love, Seizing Your Success.

Gayook is a vessel of healing energy – she is an individual with compassion and has the ability of transferring the light to others.  I cannot recommend her enough.
